New Release: 2024 Topps Pro Debut
The 2024 MiLB playoff races are gearing up and 2024 Topps Pro Debut is bursting onto the scene. Everyone’s favorite MiLB set is back with another 200 card set featuring the best and the brightest that the Minor League have to offer. This set utilizes the flagship design.
Boxes of Pro Debut are offered in two formats: Hobby Box and Jumbo Box. A Hobby Box contains 24 packs and each pack has 8 cards. Based on early pack odds, this is what you could expect from a hobby box.
192 Total Cards
4 Autographs
4 Complex League Rising Stars
2 Heroes of the Diamond
2 MiLB Legends
2 Road to the Show
12 Chrome
1 Chrome X-Fractor
Jumbo Boxes contain less cards, but can yield larger hits. Each Jumbo Box has 6 packs with each pack containing 24 cards. Pack odds are not available for the Jumbo Box, but here’s some of what you can expect.
144 Total Cards
3 Autographs
36 Chrome
In addition to what you can expect, there will also be numbered parallels in each box. In years past boxes would contain 2 or 3 parallels. However, there are no guarantees. Both of these boxes are only found online and at local card shops. The release date is currently set for Friday, September 6, 2024.
Since 2020, Pro Debut has been available in a base and a chrome parallel version. From 2020-22 the Chrome cards were exclusive to the Jumbo Boxes. In each Jumbo Pack there would be 6 chrome parallels for a total of 36 per box. In 2023 Topps made the chrome parallels available in the Hobby Boxes, falling every other pack for a total of 12 per box.

Future Cornerstones Autographs are back again this year with an out of this world look. There are also Dual Autographs and Triple Autographs available that are numbered/25 and less.
This year there are 4 different insert sets with a grand total of 50 cards. This total is typical for the last few years of Pro Debut releases. MiLB Legends (1 in 12 packs) is the only returning insert set with a 10-card look at former MLB stars with their MiLB teams. All of the insert sets will have three parallels to chase: Green Foil /99, Orange Foil /25 and the Foilfractor 1/1.
New insert sets this year include Heroes of the Diamond, Complex League Rising Stars and Road to the Show. Heroes of the Diamond (1 in 12 packs) is a 10 card set with a comic-book feel. This insert set would have been a great tie-in with the Marvel Defenders of the Diamond, but the logo on the sample card shows the regular Hickory Crawdads logo.
Complex League Rising Stars (1 in 6 packs) is a 20 card set featuring the next wave of prospects. These players are currently in the Complex Leagues starting their journey. Road to the Show (1 in 12 packs) is a 10 card set that highlights the MiLB park where the Top Prospect started and the distance to their parent MLB park. This set appears for the first time in Pro Debut, but is a revival of the insert set from Topps Heritage Minor in the mid-2010s.
Pro Debut is a release that I personally look forward to every year. It is exciting to get cards of players, that I have watched play, in their Minor League uniforms.
