Charles Davalan - Stats Page

The Los Angeles Dodgers currently have six of the Top 100 prospects according to Major League Baseball. Ranked number 87 on the list is outfielder Charles Davalan. Buried behind organizational top prospects like Josue De Paula and Mike Sirota, Davalan is prime trade bait for the Dodgers who would rather have Major League ready talent than develop their own.

Normally I would not include a member of the Top 100 prospect list on an Under the Radar list, but considering he is the 6th Dodger on this list, Davalan is able to play in relative obscurity within the organization.

Charles Davalan was drafted out of the University of Arkansas in the CB-A round of the 2025 MLB Draft. He was the 41st overall pick. In 2025 Davalan played in only 8 games with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. A leg injury on August 30th cut his debut season short. He ended 2025 with a .500 average (17 for 34), 1 home run and 10 runs batted in. The Dodgers liked enough of what they saw to promote him to High-A Great Lakes Loons to start the 2026 season.

As of August 22, 2026 Charles Davalan has played in 103 games and is batting .293 with a .409 on base percentage. He has also displayed some power this season blasting 21 home runs and hitting 28 doubles. Davalan is a very disciplined hitter. His strikeout rate in 2026 is only 10.8%, 51 strikeouts in 474 plate appearances. This ranks him first with the lowest K-rate in the Midwest League among qualified players.

Qualified players must have a minimum of 2.7 plate appearances per team game.

Davalan ranks in the Top 10 in the Midwest League in several other key stats as of August 22nd:
Batting Average: .293 - 4th
Hits: 115 - 1st
Doubles: 28 - 1st
Home Runs: 21 - 3rd, tied with Blake Mitchell, Kansas City Royals
On Base Percentage: .409 - 7th, tied with Carlos Sanchez, Cincinnati Reds
OPS: .950 - 1st

On April 5th, Davalan blasted two home runs in the same inning! He led off the 3rd inning against the Fort Wayne TinCaps with a solo shot to right-center field. He came up again in the 3rd with the bases loaded and only 1 out. He launched a Grand Slam down the right field line to cap off a 9-run third inning for the Loons. April 5th Box Score

Davalan got hot in July. He batted .370 in 20 games with 8 home runs. This torrid stretch earned him his first ever player of the month award. He has carried this momentum into August. Through 16 games he is hitting .305 with 5 doubles, 4 home runs and 15 runs scored.

On defense, Davalan has split time between Left Field and Center Field this year. He has played in 50 games in Center Field and 41 games in Left Field. He is a plus defender as he has only committed 2 errors all season. One each in Left and Center.

Charles Davalan will have a lot to prove in the 2027 season as he will likely make the jump to AA. This is one of the hardest steps in Minor League Baseball. If he were to continue to hit at an above average rate, he will position himself to be a prime trade candidate at the trade deadline in 2027. Very similar to what Zyhir Hope did this year.
