Pack Rips: 2021 Panini Prizm Draft Baseball
In this article, we are going to take a look at 3 hanger packs and 2 blaster boxes from 2021 Panini Prizm Draft Baseball.
2021 Prizm Draft Baseball features a 220 card base set showcasing over 200 draft picks from the 2021 MLB Draft class. Panini Prizm is known for their parallels and this release is no exception. There are 31 different parallels for each card. Several of which are exclusive to the various package formats. Nine different insert sets such as Fireworks, Power Surge and the popular Colorblast round out this release.
From this draft class there are several players who made their Major League Debut in 2023. These players include Henry Davis (Pittsburgh Pirates), Matt McLain (Cincinnati Reds) and Zack Gelof (Oakland Athletics).
There are other top prospects who are on their way to joining their big league clubs as early as 2024. Among those top prospects are James Wood (Washington Nationals), Jackson Merrill (San Diego Padres), and Marcelo Mayer (Boston Red Sox).
This set was available in a variety of formats: hobby boxes, mega boxes, blasters and hanger packs. The Prizm Draft blaster boxes contain five packs with five cards each. As a bonus there is an exclusive 6-card pack featuring Hyper Green and Yellow Prizms. In the regular packs there is a chance to pull a Hyper Green and Yellow Prizm autograph.
The hanger packs contain 15 cards and includes a 12-card jumbo pack and an exclusive 3-card pack featuring Hyper Blue and Carolina Blue Prizm parallels. In the jumbo pack there is a chance to pull a Hyper Blue and Carolina Blue Prizm autograph.
In the three hanger packs I pulled the expected nine Hyper Blue and Carolina Blue Prizms. The best card in these parallels was Seattle Mariners first-round pick Harry Ford. The highlight of the hangers was in the first jumbo pack. I pulled a Hyper Blue and Carolina Blue autograph of Matt McLain (Cincinnati Reds). There were also three Green Pulsar Prizms and two Silver Prizms found in these packs.
I was able to pull a variety of inserts from the hanger packs. On average there were two inserts in each pack. The six inserts in these packs were from five different sets.
The blasters for this release contain five packs of five cards plus a blaster exclusive pack of six Green and Yellow Hyper Prizms. On average I was able to pull one insert per pack including a couple Silver Prizm parallels.
In addition to the 12 Green and Yellow Hyper Prizm, there were three Green Pulsar Prizms and two Silver Prizm parallels that came out of the two blasters.
I was able to pull an autograph from one of the blasters. This autograph is a Christian Franklin Fireworks Insert Autograph.

These types of products give you a first look at the year’s draft class and the notes on the back of the card provide insight as to what makes the player special.
