2024 Panini Crusade

After years of being an insert set or a subset Crusade Baseball makes its debut in 2024. As with all Panini Baseball products, the 200-card set focuses on retired stars, Hall of Famers and prospects.

The Crusade set first came about in the late 1990s as a Donruss/Leaf insert. For the past six years, Crusade has been a 25-card subset in the Panini Chronicles line. Now Panini has given Crusade it’s own set, building an entire line around the medieval theme.

This seems to be a pretty basic offering from Panini, compared to their other products. In addition to the base set, there are eight parallel sets. Silver parallels are the most common falling one in every pack.

Insert sets seemed to be pared down as well. There are six insert sets leading off with the more traditional version of Crusade. Knightcap is a rare (short printed) insert set.

Knightcap - 20 cards

Aside from parallels, autographs are the other hit available in Crusade. The are two different autograph sets:

Apprentice Signatures - 70 subjects
Majestic Marks - 29 subjects

The checklist for the Apprentice Signatures Program is made up of prospects and young MLB stars. Including players like Colson Montgomery, Jace Jung and Masataka Yoshida. The Majestic Marks showcase retired stars and Hall Of Famers like Tony Oliva, Sammy Sosa and Frank Thomas.

2024 Panini Crusade is offered in two different box configurations. The Mega Box is the retail version. It offers one guaranteed auto in the box and contains six eight-card packs. The Premium Box is a hobby shop offering that guarantees two autograph cards per box. It contains 12 eight-card packs per box.
